I’m a self proclaimed foodie but not a foodie. I don’t like what I call fussy food. You know the type…elegantly displayed food that only contains a bite or two. The ones that have so many ingredients that you need to spend hours searching for those “just so” ingredients. Or you need to spend 2 hours of hands on time making that “amazing” meal that your family will take 10 minutes to eat.
I like humble, “peasant” type meals. Those that have little hands on time that the average family can put on the table in about 30 minutes or slow cook in the oven or stove-top with little or no hands on work. Those types of dishes your family will love and will become the recipes you turn to time and time again. That’s the type of cooking that I like. How about you?
I am also a wife, mother, sister, daughter, business owner, volunteer worker and all the other hats today’s women and men wear. But I still “find” the time to cook and do the other things that need to be done. I also like my “me” time. The time that I can just kick back and read a cookbook or novel. Or watch a little home improvement tv. (I also like decorating with what you already have)
And, if you haven’t noticed, I am very thrifty! My sister says “Linda can make a gourmet meal out of a peanut butter sandwich.” I like the game of shopping for food at rock bottom prices and turning it into a multitude of fabulous meals for my family. I really believe that you can shop for a family of 4 for $70, $60, $50 or even $40 per week and still have great meals. I know this because I have done it for years!
It is my hope that you will read this blog, share it with your friends and most importantly learn something about getting great meals on the table quickly at a great price. And then, turn around and share those meals with your loved ones.
Thanks so much for your support! I hope you come back often!!!!
